Stewart Copeland is a character that we don't need to introduce to you. The musician, considered to be the leading rock drummer of all time, will perform with the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. For the first time in our city, during the only concert in Poland, the greatest hits of the legendary group The Police performed by one of its members will sound.
In this part of our Brillante series, we are giving the floor to Copeland himself: One thing I always knew as a child that I forgot when I became a pro and showed off was that it was about listening. Playing any instrument is all about listening. It is my most important lesson. It's about listening. (…) Listening is a source of great things. (…) Listening magically turns all your beats into gold. When you just think about your shots and pick up the best shots you've made, it sounds like *****. It just doesn't work. It is not music. But as soon as you listen and focus on everyone else playing, not yourself, then the real ride begins.
Once again, we will host the phenomenal Troy Miller - a multi-instrumentalist, composer, conductor and music producer. His rare talent goes far beyond the genres of musical art. He started his career as a drummer, performing and recording, among others with Roy Ayers and Amy Winehouse. He has produced for artists such as Adele, Chaka Khan, Macy Gray, Gary Bartz, Daniel Merriweather, Gloria Gaynor, Grace Jones, Donna Summer, Jamie Cullum, Gregory Porter and Mark Turner. His conducting activity introduced him to such notables as the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Orchestra. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he is currently visiting professor.
