The Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra was established in 1948, the year in which the dispersed forces of various ensembles operating in post-war Szczecin were integrated, creating the Workers' Music Society.
The orchestra is a group of over 90 excellent musicians. The undoubted advantage of their concerts is the great acoustics of the Golden Symphony Hall at Małopolska 48 street, which became an impulse for the dynamic artistic development of the ensemble. In recent seasons, such celebrities as Mischa Maiski, Dina Yoffe, Bruce Liu and Chris Botti have performed here, and outstanding soloists have played with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, including: Gâbor Boldoczki, Tabea Zimmermann, Christian Tetzlaff, Sergei Babayan , Francesco Tristano, Terence Blanchard and Matthew Herbert. The following conductors among many others shared the stage with the orchestra: Jerzy Maksymiuk, Eugene Tzigane, Łukasz Borowicz, Josë Luis Gomez and Ainârs Rubikis, Thomas Sanderling, Jacek Kaspszyk and Antoni Wit
