NEWS | 18-06-2021
Mariusz Patyra is the first Polish violinist who has won the International Violin Competition of Niccolò Paganini in Genoa. What is more, in 2001, Patyra also received a special award for the best interpretation of Paganini's "Caprices" and Il Cannone – the copy of the grand master's violin. You will be able to see for yourself how Paganini's works sounded in the interpretation of the world-famous virtuoso during the online premiere on June 21st at 7:00 PM. The concert will be available for free on the Philharmonic's channels on Facebook and YouTube.
The violinist, sought after all over the world, has performed with concerts and recitals in Europe (including Poland, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, Austria), Japan, the United States and Mexico. He has played with such orchestras as Tokyo Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Fondazione Arturo Toscanini, Orchestra di Roma, Orchestra Filharmonica Marchigiana, Jalisco Philharmonic, Plano Symphony Orchestra, Branderburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt, Irving Symphony Orchestra, San Angelo Symphony Orchestra, Kiev Symphony Orchestra, National Orchestra Polish Radio, Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra "Amadeus", National Philharmonic Orchestra, Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra, Lower Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra, Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Chamber Orchestra "Leopoldinum".

In the chamber hall of the Philharmonic in Szczecin together with the String Quintet, the performer the pieces released on the violinist's latest album "No.24", which is a tribute to the works of Niccolo Paganini.

The repertoire on the album that I am presenting to you today is an escape from a world full of hustle and bustle, chaos, obscuring what is beautiful, clean and valuable. The songs on this album are the essence of violin playing. They are full of lyricism, nostalgia, tenderness, virtuosity at the highest level, love. Every time I perform a program recorded on this album, the audience applauds me. People approach me with tears of emotion and a smile on their faces, both connoisseurs of classical music and laymen. It was the reactions of people at my concerts that prompted me to record this album, and the album is the most beautiful reminder of these sublime, priceless moments – emphasizes Mariusz Patyra.
